If I had to be rebuked, a joke at something else's expense would probably be my preferred delivery method.
[Never mind that his sense of humor veers easily toward the simple or slippery, very often and inconsistently.]
I had to think about it for a long time, but I have strong opinions on the practice of cutting a tag off of a shirt because the wearer finds it irritating. Frequently, it leaves a stump behind with irregular edges, and it's much more irritating than the issue was to begin with. It's both a very literal form of self-sabotage, and a decent metaphor for the many people in the world who take enthusiastic action towards their problems while making them exponentially worse.
A simple and elegant solution is just manufacturing the shirts in the first place without tags, just putting everything you might need to know about its brand, care instructions, and material content directly onto the shirt.
Many still come with one attached, however. And many still make the mistake of cutting it off and having to deal with a worse problem. The way to do it is carefully with a seam ripper if you must.
