I don't know; tell me about the Living Force.

The orthodox view, I guess, is that the Force IS everything. The Living Force is the aspect of the Force that resides in and is generated by all life. It is energy that binds us, and connects us. When living things die, they usually pass into what is called the Cosmic Force, which is often considered to transcend linear space/time. The Cosmic Force supports and sustains the Living Force; the Jedi view is that it is a cycle.

But stuff about the Cosmic Force is also usually considered more theoretical, as Jedi on the whole are usually more attuned to the Living Force.

On the other hand, I've personally had visions of people I'm close to, who had died recently. I've been told by several sources, including ones I trust a fair amount, that spirits or souls can exist as distinguishable entities a very long time after death. I've even seen some evidence that the spirits of the dead can at times possess a living person.

There are similarities there, sure. Thanergy and thalergy have always been understood as resources to us, more than the idea of a pervasive, omnipresent something that exists in all things regardless of what's happening to it.

I mean, obviously thanergy and thalergy exist in all things. But it's the way cell death and new cell generation exist in all things, you know? Limited, ultimately. A finite resource.

Soul is another matter entirely. I believe you completely about possessions. Where do these distinguishable souls of yours manifest, if not inside something else?

Huh. There are places that the Force, or aspects of it are stronger and weaker, sure. Or a particular person may be more in tune. I pretty much always felt more in tune on my homeworld, for example. And how the Force feels for me here has taken some getting used to. But the limits of what we can do with it is usually understood to be a matter of understanding, will, training. Not a limit within the Force itself.

I'm not sure about the specifics of manifestation of souls. Tawlyn - he's a Sith here - he talked about binding spirits to himself. My Jedi friend who talked about the dead visiting him, it just seemed like they turned up whenever they wanted to.
