Pretty sure that's the biggest sword I've ever seen. Does it do anything magical or whatever, or just hit really, really hard?

I have a lightsaber. It's not magic per se, although it's a focus for my abilities that some people call magic. I built it, because that's the tradition. You build your own.

It's actually not made of light, or a laser. It's controlled plasma. Definitely, on combat setting, it can cut through bone. The question is usually less what can it cut through and more what can it burn through and how quickly.

I can also turn it down to training settings cool enough to just sting.

Well, first you need the right kind of crystal for the focus. And those are sort of sacred where I'm from, sorry. I'm also pretty sure you need the inborn ability to bond with a crystal to build a new saber properly.

I did teach my foster sister how to fight with one, but that's because there's a very old lightsaber that has special meaning in her people's culture, and we found it.

You know what, fair enough. And I've certainly seen abilities from other universes that are at least very analogous to Force-sensitivity.

What Palamedes said about the thalergy sounds very like aspects of the Force, to me.

Lightsabers aren't heavy. Just a little difficult to control. Some of that is how well you vibe with the crystal focus.
