I don't know much about the metaphysical realm.
Usually I just chalk it all up to magic bullshit, you know? It's definitely more than just a normal book.
I mean, hell, I recognized some of the poems, you know? They were from Earth, they were by a poet I've read before.
And none of them did this kind of thing back home.

Yeah, there absolutely are.
I mean, all of it is kiiiinda out of my wheelhouse, or it has been for a few years now, but I guess I gotta get used to it being a part of my life again.
Whether it's extraplanar realities or just stupid idiot magic curse bullshit, all I know is that my past is coming back in a big way.

Oh yeah.
So like. Back where I'm from, reality is sliced up like a layer cake. The one that everyone experiences is the one on top.
But sometimes, things can happen. Things that awaken you to the idea of other layers underneath what you're seeing.
The real nature of what reality actually is.
That's what happened to me. Why I ended up the way I am now. And I don't know if this place works on the same principle, but let's just say I wouldn't be surprised.

I've been down to the sixth layer before. Deepest I've ever been.
It gets bad down there.

What happens when you’re aware of the other layers?

Hard to tell which one comes first, but... your soul starts resonating with souls of others that are somewhere in that mess of layers.
You start getting memories back from them, people you've never met before, people you've never seen and wouldn't even have known existed if it weren't for this.

We needed an app, like on our phones? We needed them to organize the whole thing. And that's why I say it's hard to tell what came first.
I still don't know what awakened what, I just know that one day, I got awakened.

If you start getting memories from people you don't know, or haven't met, they must be from others. You're connected to these others when you wake up?

And... it would be nice, right?
But the reason we can resonate with their souls is because their worlds were destroyed.
They only live on through us.

I've never heard anything like it before. There's something that reminds me of it, from home, but it's far from the same. [ in other words: interesting. ] Can you separate what's theirs and what's yours?

While it's happening, sure.
The whole idea of it is that eventually they move into your body and mind completely, and I think the endgame was that you share, but nobody ever made it to endgame.
I'm the closest anyone got, and the last one left.
And even though I know she's still in here with me, she's been quiet for a while.

We're the same now, her and me. Anna Amarande and YoRHa Type-A No.2. One flesh, one soul. Sort of.
I have all my memories and a lot of hers, and I have most of her body, and I have a lot of her actual, physical skills.
And here I am, carrying her soul with me until the day we both die, hoping that she gets a better shot at life than she got back home.

I’ve met three androids before Trench. Two of them took care of me.

IG-11 and Connor-51. I love them very much.

Mm. Well, that just goes to show you that even in the same line, you're gonna get different kinds of people.
We're all just... people, you know? We don't follow programming like that. It's all just part of what being humanity is like, even if it is artificial.
And whether it's nature or nurture, it all comes down to having a soul and the freedom to make our own choices.
