It's a reminder of her slight shift in goals, the desire to save everyone - as many people as she can - coming in after wanting to help her parents out of debt. The realization that 'saving' and 'helping' can take many forms. Unfortunately, to get to that point...it had to be at a monumental price.
Being right there, but unable to do a single thing... The guilt, and the weight of that failure, will stay with her forever.]

Even amidst the hardship and war, or maybe especially because of that...she just wants to see them again somehow, hear their voices. The portals a while back were bittersweet, getting to see everyone again but only able to observe a bit for fear of messing something up in the timeline.
