He looks great, doesn't he? I didn't know he would grow so fast!

I think he knows what handsome is, too. He's really happy to hear it.

[ he kind of misses holding his little ovoid baby brother— oh, but look at all these pictures he's posting. it's confetti left and right. most of them of him in mid-flight. he actually tried to get some good angles! ]

It must be all the good care you've been giving him. You can tell how healthy and happy he is.

I'm impressed that he can fly. Did you and Perle help him learn?

I spoiled him a lot for scaring him.

He doesn't go too high or for too long yet, but yes! We showed him a few tips. His wings are really small so it doesn't work the same way. They're like a fairy's.

I was wondering a bit about the aerodynamics.

So that's another one of his magic tricks. He's a powerful little creature. It's a good thing he's surrounded by positive influences.

(I'm sure he's already forgotten all about being scared.)

That reminds me. He's been doing magic tricks with his hands.

Really? What kinds of tricks?

He waves his hands around! They glow up and something happens. The last time a star shot past the window in plain daylight!

He summoned a star? Do you mean a meteor>

Technically it was! I wonder if he could do it again, but it's usually different every time.

He is an impressive creature. Do you think he's some kind of magician?

[grice]

If he were, he'd be able to teach what he knows, right?

I think he's a fairy.

[ what him have to change his mind in like.... two months. ]

Some magicians can't teach their abilities to others. Believe me. I've asked.

The idea of him being a fairy makes sense. You did just find him out in the wilderness. Do you think he's from this place, or came from somewhere else, like we did?

Someone said he was a prize for surviving a trial once, but I don't really like to think of him that way. He's been a gift for me, though. If he's from somewhere else, I don't know. He doesn't act like he has a home to go back to, but he is different from anything in Trench.

Do magicians not teach because they can't or they don't want to expose their secrets?

He was born here, wasn't he? There's where your line comes from, and then there's where your home is. They can be very different things. His home is with you, either way.

Most of them say it's because they can't. I believe about half of them. (I think they underestimate me as a student.)

And I think you should still try. It can be a secret.

You're already good at it. All you need to do is to keep being you.

I'm learning from a book, so not entirely by myself.

I know I can trust you. I just wanted to thank you for your gift, from before. It's been good to know I have something to take care of myself if I get burned, although I haven't yet.
